Just a short 6 mile drive away sits the pretty coastal village of Bamburgh, with it’s sweeping beaches and dramatic castle.
Take the opportunity to visit the bird sanctuary or seal colony on the famous Farne Islands, is not to be missed. There are boat trips running daily from nearby Seahouses. Alternatively check the tide times to make the crossing over to Holy Island to visit the historic Lindisfarne Castle and Lindisfarne Priory.
For something a little further afield you may wish to visit the cities of Newcastle/Gateshead or Edinburgh, both of which are within 1hr 30in drive away.
